Are you looking to lose a few pounds before the holiday season? You don’t need a weight loss pill or personal trainer to shed pounds.

According to a recent article published by the Chicago SunTimes, those who eat slower, eat less, and therefore weight less. By making one simple change to the way you eat, you could drop a few inches.

Here’s what you need to do, “try taking your time when you eat, really savoring and enjoying your food, instead of racing through your meals and snack,” suggests the Chicago Sun.

“People who eat slowly tend to consume fewer calories and weight less than those who eat quickly, research shows,” (Chicago Sun Times).

It is believed that slower eating allows you to feel full before you’ve consumed too much food.

To try to slow down your eating rate, the Chicago Sun Times suggests selecting high-fiber foods that take more time to chew, such as apples, pears, carrots, broccoli and air-popped popcorn.

So, make this little change to your eating habits and lets the results speak for themselves.
