David S. Rosenthal, MD, FACP, FACE has been invited to present at the 81^st annual meeting of The American Thyroid Association. Dr. Rosenthal is a member of the division of endocrinology at Nassau University Medical Center.

Dr. Rosenthal will present a summarization of the ATA Practice Recommendations, which were published in April 2011 in the journal Thyroid, concerning patient care and public health issues related to the use of radioactive iodine in the treatment of thyroid diseases. 

The American Thyroid Association is the leading worldwide organization dedicated to the advancement, understanding, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer. ATA is an international society with over 1,400 physicians and scientists from 43 countries around the world who specialize in the research and treatment of thyroid disease. 

According to a press release posted on NuHealth.net, the “mission of ATA is for scientists and physicians to better understand the treatment of thyroid diseases: leading in the promotion of excellence and innovation in research, education and public policy.”
